Transitioning our students and staff back to school requires community collaboration and we thank you for your continued partnership. We will continue to update and refine our re-entry plan to incorporate feedback, the changing environment, and pending guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on reopening school protocols. You will find the Heritage Elementary Round One FAQ's regarding the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Please know that many of the details are still being solidified; therefore, we will be sending additional FAQ's to help you determine what is best for your family. Express Check-In for the 2020-2021 school year will open mid July. All parents need to log into Express Check-In to complete the new school year check-in process. The Express Check-In process requires a parent to have their own account. If you do not remember your password, click here for help with a password reset. If you are having other issues with your account or need an account set up, please contact Brandee Tudor at brandee.tudor@dcsdk12.org Your student’s 2020-2021 required fees are posted and ready for payment through My School Bucks, along with optional fees for PTO membership and donations. Exciting News for Heritage!
Heritage was honored to receive both the 2019 Colorado John Irwin School of Excellence and the 2019 Colorado Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. The John Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science. The Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools "exceed" expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and "meet or exceed" expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps.

The Douglas County School District (DCSD) is coordinating with local public health agencies to monitor the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We are keeping in close contact with the Tri-County Health Department and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) on this subject.
