Meet The Principal

Jean Wolach, Principal

I grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley earning a degree in Business Marketing as well as a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I attended the University of Denver to obtain my degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and my principal license. I am beginning my 34th year in Douglas County Schools and have enjoyed each and every year.  I opened Heritage Elementary in 2001 and have been here for the past 21 years. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade before becoming the Assistant Principal.  After six years as the Assistant Principal, I am so honored to now be the Principal.

My husband, Patrick and I have two wonderful daughters, our oldest Hannah (31) is a nurse at Children’s Hospital and got married this past summer. Our youngest Karlee (27) is teaching preschool in Douglas County and loves working with young kids (hmmmm wonder where she got that from).  When I am not at school, I enjoy biking, hiking, and playing pickleball!!

Educational Philosophy

I believe that….

  • Each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. Our job is to foster that potential each and every day at school in each and every child.

  • Teaching is a lifelong process of learning about new philosophies and new strategies, learning from the parents and community, learning from colleagues, and especially learning from our students.

  • Collaboration and a positive culture of continuous support and love are the most important ingredients in a successful school.
